Thank you, Wouter
In a country where people get extremely frustrated with poor service, I would like to share the following to show all isn't lost yet. In June last year, a group of us went to the Okavango Delta and I rented a trailer from Gerber's 4x4 in Kempton Park for this holiday. Within the first kilometer from home, the coupler became unhitched for the first time. As we were novices, we thought it hadn't been hitched properly. Everything went well until we had to master Moremi’s dirt roads. Here the coupler jumped off twice. It was then we saw the coupler was totally worn out on the inside. Travelling at snail’s pace, we only reached Xakanaxa late that night. One of the lodges had a welding machine plan. Meanwhile, I contacted Wouter Gerber (thanx to the lodge’s satellite phone) and he promised they would fix the problem before we had to drive on, which was in three days’ time. The afternoon before our departure we went for another drive- I could not get enough of the bush or the animals. When we got back to camp late that afternoon one of the neighbors told us someone had been working on our trailer. And guess what – we had a brand new coupler! They had probably just shaken their heads about our temporary effort, because everything had been neatly fixed and cleaned. We had no further problems. Thank you Wouter and your team for this excellent service.
(Gerber’s 4x4 now test the coupler beforehand, to ensure everything is right.)
